Ding-dong — open the housewarming gift box and out pops a log tied with a gold ribbon. "Housewarming means warming the house!" After the reveal that people once really did give firewood as a gift, the log's growth rings turn into the swirl of a rolled-up blanket, which unrolls with a flourish. Draped over the sofa, spread on the bed, tumbled around in the washer and soon fluffy again — then rolled back up and tucked into the gift box. "Housewarming gift? Pick a blanket!"
