On a green stage, a card thuds down with a big checkmark: “Beanie Checklist Before You Buy,” with a pill below reading “What if even one is missing?” A black beanie plunks down, the stage turns a sickly gray, and a stamp reading “Buying black again” lands with a deflated trombone. Then, on the line “My puffer jackets are all black,” a butter-yellow yarn ball rolls in, draws a ✔ with its thread, hops onto the beanie and unravels — the beanie is re-knitted in yellow from the brim up and the stage spreads to violet. Tomato red, lavender and oatmeal follow at 2 seconds each, and finally all 4 colors gather on one card as an intruding black beanie gets flicked away: “No black here.”
