Don't Read From the Start — The Book Elevator
On the downbeat of the track, the serif text “Don't read / from the start.” thuds down and a red ✕ lands on the page 1 paper. The bookmark character “Galpi” pants its way up the paper stairs from p.1 to p.3 and slides right back down in “Give up.” But once Galpi headbutts the breathing “?” button on the panel whose nameplate reads “Contents,” the floor display spins through its numbers and goes straight there. With a “ding-dong” the door opens: “Light and quick to finish!” Past the contents-skimming tip from the reading classic How to Read a Book and “For non-fiction, the order doesn't matter,” behind the big line “Curiosity completes your reading.” the “?” unfolds into a “!”, and at “It may change the way you see books,” Galpi's eyes turn into real star eyes.
