Pre-Departure Checklist

Pre-Departure Checklist

An overseas outlet, "Grumpy," flicks our plug right out with a "pop." Looking at the pre-departure checklist: passport ✓ charger ✓ — but one empty box keeps growing until it turns into that very grumpy outlet. When the adapter's slider is pushed to bring out the right prongs and it's plugged in with a snug "click," the room lights up, the phone and earbuds charge at the same time, and the last box gets checked.
