From the Start to Now
The door swings open on an empty room, and a rolled-up mat with big round eyes hops and rolls to the window, unrolling with "It began with an empty room — and… me!" As the first mat speaks, neighbor mats drop in one by one, one wall becomes a shelf of rings, balls and foam rollers, and a reformer lands with a thud — the first mat climbs onto the carriage, goes "clunk!" and is launched flying across the room. In "now," when the sky brightens from dawn violet to morning gold, the mats breathe to the beat and the carriage glides along with them. The first mat greedily stretches toward the empty spot beside it, then boings back — and a purple mat drops into that spot and unrolls: "Right here — your spot!"
