Writing Pieup in Four Strokes

The shop's name, “Pieup,” is the name of a consonant in the Korean alphabet. On cream paper, that letter is drawn in forest ink one stroke at a time in stroke order, becoming a timeline, and inside its windows sit real photos of the garden and interior, uncropped. Three spaces, a garden of about 2,000 pyeong, a 200-pyeong dog-friendly free zone — at the end, the frames with the photos removed settle into the shape of the letter.
