Open the Door to the Sea: An Hour-Long Dive

Get pulled in through the window in the shop door on Haeridan-gil and you're underwater. A round mother-of-pearl-rimmed window in the center of the screen becomes a 60-minute clock, and each time a pearly mother-of-pearl whale swims one notch around the window, the view inside flips through mother-of-pearl scenery, a conch-shell basket, seashell hairpins, hand knits, whale plates and keyrings made in Busan, as the sea grows deeper and deeper. Just when it seems to end with a “ding” at 60 minutes, the round window splits into three, revealing that this sea also exists on Gunam-ro and in Gwangalli.
