How a Picture Makes It onto the Wall
A woodblock ASMR journey that starts with a woodblock dropping with a “thud,” where the scrape of the carving knife, the roll of the brayer, the tap of the hammer and the click of the lights become the beat. The textures of baskets, straw mats and winnowing baskets and bold primary colors lead into real relief works from the past invitational exhibition “Beyond Memory,” and “one cup + one piece” comes together in front of a teacup on a white iron table in the actual gallery. What pops up on the next wall is a child's crayon drawing — a place that welcomes anyone who wants to exhibit, from little kids to professional painters.
