Layers, Not Faces

The white-square friend shouts “Done!”, but when the cube rolls, the side-strip colors next to the white face are all misaligned. At the words “Layers, not faces,” the cube splits into three layers, and the bottom layer, middle layer, and last layer click into place one after another. The yellow friend, who has been dozing the whole time, wakes up only at the moment the last layer clicks.
