Until the First Spoonful

Until the First Spoonful

A single ink line runs unbroken down a scroll of hand-scooped hanji paper. It passes the lattice-slatted door under tiled eaves, the stone pot where soaked rice pours in, the steaming rice pot and bubbling ttukbaegi, and the trays filled bowl by bowl, and the stroke ends where a brass spoon takes the first bite. It is completed with the vertical text on the right, 「A table that holds / even the time you waited」, and a red seal stamp 「Hansang」 beneath it.
