Until the First Send

The title chips slam onto a rainbow-hold wall with a "thunk·thunk·thunk." Mallangi opens the door, rents climbing shoes, dips both hands in the chalk bucket and claps with a "pat-pat," then shows that holds of the same color make one problem. Taking on the hard tomato route, Mallangi's arms stretch like taffy and it drops onto the mat with a "poing!" After catching a breath on the bench, Mallangi climbs the easy mint route and grabs the top with both hands — "Sent!" As the camera pulls back, the chalk handprints left on every hold along the way have become a path from the bottom to the top.
